About
The Quantum Systems Accelerator (QSA) is one of five U.S. Department of Energy National Quantum Information Science Research Centers, led by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. QSA brings together researchers from national labs, universities, and industry to co-design quantum algorithms, devices, and systems.
November 2025: DOE renewed QSA funding with $125 million over five years, targeting 1,000-fold performance gains by 2030. QSA partners include Sandia National Laboratories, MIT, University of Colorado Boulder, Caltech, and industry leaders.
QSA focuses on developing prototype quantum computing systems and advancing quantum algorithms for scientific applications in chemistry, materials science, and fundamental physics.
